"CITY is a silent film with background noise. The idea behind the film is the concept of silence in the 21st century. In a city like Chicago, is there ever really silence? At 3am when you are trying to sleep - there is a siren, road noise, drunken jabber, or teenage drama just 3 stories below. Not to mention a dog or heaven forbid, you live near a set of train tracks. CITY is an abstract commentary on the concept of silence in the modern age, and what a silent film really is. Is it a film to be seen in complete silence? Or is it merely an idea which needs no specific audio backing track to support its statement. That, my friend, is CITY.
